🚨 Former Transport Minister Isarin of Singapore has pleaded guilty to bribery charges after the prosecution amended the indictment against him.
⚖️ He faces four charges for obtaining valuable items as a public servant and one count of obstructing justice. Initially, he was charged with 35 counts for accepting over 43,000 Singapore dollars in luxury goods, including tickets to musicals and soccer matches in the UK.
🛑 The 62-year-old resigned from his position in January and previously vowed to defend his innocence in court. He also quit the ruling People's Action Party, which is facing scrutiny ahead of the general elections expected by the end of next year.
📜 Isarin's case marks the first political graft trial in Singapore in over four decades. He has pledged to return the money received as part of his salary and allowances since his arrest last year.
