🌟 Keani is in San Diego for a unique opportunity to train like a marine for the next 3 days. She is excited yet nervous about the extreme mental and physical challenges ahead.
💪 Day 1 started with an introduction from Captain Walker and a thrilling experience with helicopters. Keani learned about engo Marines and their role in coordinating fire support. She faced her first exercise at the shooting range, where she fired an assault rifle for the first time, receiving a C- grade for her efforts.
😅 By the end of day one, Keani made friends and was proud of her accomplishments, but she anticipated more demanding challenges ahead.
🏃♀️ Day 2 began with a morning run followed by the O course, an obstacle course that tested her physical and mental strength. Despite struggling, she learned the importance of perseverance and teamwork.
🌿 The day continued with training on hand signals and a patrol exercise, which was physically exhausting but rewarding.
🔥 Day 3 was the final day, focusing on executing a simulated call for fire mission. Keani felt more confident and successfully called for fire in a live zone, witnessing the aircraft execute fire on her command.
🏅 The experience concluded with a closing ceremony, where Keani reflected on the selflessness and bravery of the Marines. She left with a sense of accomplishment and a reminder to never let doubts hold her back.
👋 Thank you for following Keani's journey! She hopes you enjoyed it and encourages you to stay strong in the face of challenges.
